The receptionist looked up at Arabella and inquired, “Are you Ms. Hamilton?”

“I’m Arabella,” she answered simply. She wasn’t sure who “Ms. Hamilton” referred to in this context, but she gave her name
anyway.
“Right this way, please,” the receptionist said, leading her directly toward the elevator. “Mr. Stewart’s office is on the top floor.”
“Thanks,” Arabella replied before stepping into the elevator.
Once she reached the top floor, she found Matthew’s office without trouble.
Andy was just coming out as she arrived. “Dr. Hamilton–good to see you. Mr. Stewart is inside,” he said, then opened the door and announced, “Mr. Stewart, Dr. Hamilton is here.”
“Send her in,” Matthew said, his eyes shifting toward the doorway.
After Arabella entered, she met his gaze. “You were expecting me?”
She couldn’t shake the feeling he’d been waiting deliberately, as though he’d been certain she would come.
“Let’s just say our interests aligned,” Matthew said evenly.
“Hmm?” Arabella was slightly puzzled. What did that mean?
“You have a project. I’m looking to invest. Seemed like a mutual opportunity,” Matthew remarked, one eyebrow raised.
“Oh,” Arabella said quietly, relieved that was all there was to it.
She laid the folder on his desk. “I’ve revised the proposal. Take a look when you have a moment.”
Matthew opened it, and his eyes narrowed slightly as he scanned the pages.
“You put this together?” he asked, a trace of surprise in his tone.
“Yes,” Arabella replied calmly.
“To refine a proposal to this level in just a few days is impressive,” Matthew noted, realizing once again that he had underestimated her skills.
He had assumed her expertise lay only in medicine, but here she was presenting a thoroughly polished business proposal–one that was practically flawless.
“I only made adjustments to the earlier draft,” Arabella said, not elaborating further. At the moment, all that mattered was whether Matthew would commit to the investment.
Matthew gave an approving nod. “Well done. I should have known–anything the Hamiltons touch has the potential to lead the industry.”
He hadn’t expected the family’s recently discovered daughter to be quite this remarkable.
“It’s just a vision for now. But I intend to make it happen,” Arabella said, her eyes bright with determination. She always aimed for

‘Good,” Matthew replied, closing the folder. He turned to his assistant. “Andy, draw up the agreement.”
‘You’ve decided already?” Arabella asked.
Tapping the proposal, Matthew said, “With a plan like this, there’s nothing left to deliberate.”
Shortly after, Andy returned with the prepared investment contract.

‘Mr. Stewart, construction is already underway at the site. Will you have someone stop by to review progress?” Arabella asked.
‘Are you heading there now?” Matthew inquired.
Arabella shook her head. “I’ve got other things to take care of. Ethan is managing things on–site.”
‘If Ethan’s there, I don’t need to send anyone else,” Matthew said, feeling completely assured.
“You mentioned other plans. Where are you off to?” Matthew asked.
Arabella slid the contract into her backpack and replied casually, “I have my second–phase flight evaluation coming up, so I need to get some extra practice in.”
“At the flight school?” Matthew recalled she’d been taking lessons.
“No, at Lucas‘ place,” Arabella said as she hoisted her backpack onto her shoulder. “I should get going.”
Matthew watched her leave, his expression darkening slightly. Lucas… Was that her instructor? Why wouldn’t she use the school’s facilities?
“Andy, look into what’s going on,” Matthew said, his tone noticeably cooler.
“Right away,” Andy replied before stepping out to make inquiries.
A while later, Andy returned with an update. “Mr. Stewart, Ms. Hamilton hasn’t been using the flight school recently. She’s been doing all her training at Lucas‘ villa.”
“Is there an issue with the school?” Matthew asked. Why go elsewhere?
“Not that we’re aware of,” Andy answered, shaking his head.
Matthew frowned. If the school was perfectly functional, why choose Lucas‘ place?
“Also, Alfred has been accompanying Ms. Hamilton to these sessions lately.”
“Alfred.” Even though he was already a licensed pilot, he was still tagging along–probably out of concern for Arabella.
“Mr. Stewart, should we look deeper into Lucas‘ background?” Andy asked cautiously, keeping his voice low,
“That won’t be necessary. You can return to your work,” Matthew said, dismissing him with a wave.
“Understood,” Andy replied before exiting the office.

Leaning back in his chair, Matthew fixed his eyes on the proposal Arabella had left behind, his expression deepening.
This woman was full of surprises.
Meanwhile, Arabella was driving toward Lucas‘ villa.
As the traffic light turned red, she eased to a stop.
Glancing casually into the rearview mirror, she noticed a somewhat familiar car behind her and frowned.

“Why is that car still behind me?” she wondered. She had first spotted it after leaving Horizon Corp, and even after turning down several streets, it remained there.
A faint sense of unease settled over her, putting her on alert.
When the light turned green, she accelerated smoothly, keeping a discreet watch on the vehicle behind. Sure enough, it continued to follow.
“Who are they, and why are they tailing me?” Arabella mused, feeling both puzzled and wary.
