Skye and Gabriel entered the conference room. The door clicked shut.
“Hey! Coffee! Now!” Manager Zoe yelled from down the hall.
Seraphina jumped, spilling hot latte over her hand. She didn’t feel the burn. She only felt the thrill.
She had dirt. She had a weapon.
“You’re just a whore like the rest of us, Skye,” Seraphina muttered, wiping her hand on her skirt. “And I’m going to expose you p>
Inside the conference room, Skye sat down at the head of the table, carefully adjusting her leg under the table.
“Did she see us?” Skye asked calmly.
Gabriel Ross took off his sunglasses and grinned. “Definitely. She was hiding behind a fern. Not exactly subtle p>
“Good,” Skye said. She opened a file. “Let the rumors start. It will make the truth hurt that much more when it lands p>
The rumors spread through Trinity Media like a virus in a ventilation system.
By 10:00 AM, the interns were whispering.
By noon, the junior executives were chuckling. Skye Sterling is sleeping her way to a contract. She’s Ross’s mistress.
Seraphina sat in the break room, stirring a packet of fake sugar into her lukewarm coffee. She was the epicenter of the gossip, holding court with three other interns who were eager for distraction.
