Liam staggered back. He hit the wall and slid down slightly.
“Skye… I swear… I didn’t know it was that bad p>
“You didn’t know because you didn’t care to know,” Skye said. She walked around the desk and stood over him. “I don’t love you, Liam. I don’t even hate you anymore. I just look at you and I feel… tired p>
“No.” Liam shook his head. Tears streamed down his face. “No. I can fix this. I’ll send her away. I’ll give you everything p>

Liam looked up at her. He saw the distance in her eyes. It terrified him.
“Is it him?” Liam asked, his voice hardening. “Thorne? Do you love him p>
Skye paused. She didn’t love Alistair. Not yet. But she trusted him. And right now, that was more powerful.

Liam stood. The grief in his eyes hardened into something ugly. Jealousy.
“Fine,” Liam spat. “You want a war? You want to be a businesswoman? Then let’s do business p>
He straightened his jacket. “I am blacklisting Sterling Media. I will call in every favor I have left. I will contact the old guard—my father’s friends, the people who still owe the Kensington name a debt regardless of my current standing with Beatrice. No vendor, no distributor, not one theater chain will work with you. I will starve you out, Skye p>
“You don’t have the authority,” Skye said. “Beatrice froze your trust p>

Skye sat down. Her hands were trembling, but she clasped them together.
“I’m fine,” Skye said. “Get me Gabriel Ross on the phone. We’re signing him tonight p>
“Gabriel Ross?” Harper frowned. “The washed-up singer? He’s been blacklisted for years p>
“Exactly,” Skye smiled. “He has nothing to lose. And neither do we p>
The blacklist was effective. By noon the next day, three major advertisers had pulled out of Sterling Media. The distribution partner for their upcoming film slate canceled the contract via email.
Harrison, Sterling Media’s top actor and biggest earner, stormed into Skye’s office.
