Chapter 254
Dominic stood up. “Are you insane?”
Liam grabbed a crystal decanter from the bar and smashed it over the head of the second guard.
He fought like a madman. No technique. Just pure, unadulterated rage. He took a punch to the ribs, but he didn’t feel it. He tackled Dominic onto the sofa, raining blows down on his face.
“You hit her!” Liam screamed. “You touched her!”
Dominic managed to kick Liam off. He wiped blood from his lip. “She’s just an ex-wife, Liam! Get a grip!”
“She is everything!” Liam shouted.
Suddenly, the windows of the penthouse shook. A helicopter hovered outside.
Ropes dropped onto the balcony. Men in tactical gear rappelled down. They smashed through the glass doors.
Alistair Thorne walked in through the broken glass. He held a cane—not because he needed it, but because it concealed a blade.
“Enough,” Alistair said.
His men pulled Liam off Dominic. Liam was panting, bleeding, wild-eyed.
Alistair looked at Dominic, who was cowering behind the sofa.
“Cousin,” Alistair said pleasantly. “You seem to have a pest-control problem.”
“Alistair!” Dominic stammered. “Help me! This lunatic attacked me!”
“He attacked you because you touched what belongs to me,” Alistair said.
He walked over to Dominic and poked him in the chest with the cane.
“You hit my fiancée,” Alistair said.
“Fiancée?” Dominic paled. “I didn’t know… I thought she was just—”
“You thought wrong.”
Alistair pulled a document from his coat.
“This is a transfer deed,” Alistair said. “For the North Sea shipping route. Skye’s new company, Oracle Holdings, intercepted your encrypted logs an hour ago. We know about the cargo you’re moving tonight.”
Dominic’s eyes bulged. “That’s my biggest earner! You can’t take that!”

“I can,” Alistair said. “Or I can give this USB drive to Interpol. It contains the logs of every illegal shipment you’ve made in the last five years.”
Dominic looked at the USB drive. He looked at Liam, who was still straining against the guards, desperate to kill him. He looked at Alistair’s cold, dead eyes.
“Fine,” Dominic spat. “Take it.”
He signed the paper.
Alistair checked the signature. “Pleasure doing business. Oh, and Dominic? That’s a five-billion-dollar route. Consider it the medical bill for Skye’s lip.”
Alistair turned to Liam. “You done?”
Liam wiped blood from his nose. “Not yet. Seraphina.”
He looked at Seraphina, hiding in the corner.
“You’re not Eleanor,” Liam said. “I don’t know who you are. But I’m going to find out. And when I do, I’m going to bury you.”
Liam walked out.
Alistair watched him go. “He’s useful when he’s angry.”
He turned back to Felix. “Send the deed to Skye. Tell her it’s her pain-and-suffering settlement.”
Back at the hospital, I looked at the digital transfer notification on my phone.
Asset Transfer: North Sea Logistics. Valuation: $5.2 Billion.
I laughed. It hurt my face, but I laughed.
