As soon as Matthew finished speaking, Andy paused briefly, then scrolled through his tablet. “Mr. Stewart, it appears Marla does have an engagement today. He’s attending an art auction p>
Marla was like a ghost. Many sought him out, hoping for a share of his success, but no one seemed to have actually met him. Even Andy hadn’t managed to locate a photo.

Andy nodded and left to do so.
At that moment, Arabella had just gotten up. She changed and went downstairs for breakfast.
In the dining room, Florence, who had also come down, saw her and asked warmly, “Arabella, what would you like for breakfast p>
“Mom, it’s just breakfast–I’m not picky. Whatever’s ready is fine,” Arabella replied with a smile.
“Right now, there’s cereal and toast,” Florence said after checking.
“That’s perfect.” Arabella reached for the items.
Seeing this, Florence smiled. “You must be hungry. Just sit–I’ll bring it over p>
Not wanting to refuse her mother’s kindness, Arabella returned to her seat to wait.

Colton sent an OK sign, followed by an invitation.
Arabella opened it–an invitation to an art auction.
“Hilde’s Auctions found some ‘treasures‘ again. You dropped a fortune there the last two times. They’re probably setting you up. Maybe skip this one–I’ll decline for you p>
Arabella sent an eye–roll emoji.
“Setting me up? Didn’t I double my money on those last two pieces? The real fools are the other bidders p>
Colton sighed audibly in his reply. “True. It’s just that you never show your face. I always have to book a private suite–such a hassle p>
Arabella sent a virtual glare. “Just book it and stop complaining p>
Colton had no choice but to send a nodding emoji.
Checking the time, Arabella decided to go to Hilde’s after breakfast. With luck, she might find a worthwhile piece to resell at a profit. She wasn’t short on funds, but easy money–without having to design anything herself–was always welcome.
“Arabella, your cereal and toast are ready,” Florence said, bringing the breakfast over.
“Thanks, Mom. I’m in a bit of a hurry, so I’ll start,” Arabella said, taking a sip of orange juice. Hearing she had plans, Florence asked with concern, “Do you have something on so early p>
“There’s an art auction. I thought I’d take a look,” Arabella explained.
“An auction? Then eat slowly–no rushing. Let the driver take you later,” Florence reminded her gently.
“Actually, I’ll just take a car service,” Arabella said, not wanting to draw attention.

“Mom, I’m finished. I’ll head out now,” Arabella said, setting down her napkin.

“Let the driver take you. It’s more comfortable than a hired car,” Florence insisted, thinking it more convenient.
Unable to persuade her, Arabella finally left Cloudrise Manor in the family car.
When they reached a convenient spot downtown, Arabella told the driver, “You can stop here p>
The driver pulled over as instructed, and Arabella got out.
Once the Hamilton car had driven away, she hailed a ride–share and headed for Hilde’s Auctions.
In a private viewing suite at Hilde’s, Matthew swirled the wine in his glass. “Has Marla arrived?” “Not yet, but I have someone watching the main entrance,” Andy reported.

Meanwhile, at the entrance of Hilde’s, a sedan pulled up.
The door opened, and Arabella stepped out, wearing a black baseball cap and a face mask. As she approached the entrance, she noticed two well–dressed men standing conspicuously to the side–they didn’t look like regular auction staff.
But she didn’t pay them much mind. She had arrived by a regular car and was well–covered. No one should recognize her.
With practiced ease, Arabella walked straight to the private suite Colton had reserved for her.
