“So, how are you feeling now? Judging by your alertness, it doesn’t seem like you need me to examine you at all,” Arabella said, steering the conversation back to the matter at hand. Looking at Matthew’s composed demeanor as he spoke, he didn’t appear unwell in the slightest.
“Better to check anyway. I’ve been feeling particularly off today.” Matthew suddenly adopted a pained expression.
“That came on rather suddenly, didn’t it? You were perfectly fine talking a moment ago, and now you’re in pain?” Arabella looked at him skeptically.
“I don’t know what’s going on either. The discomfort just hit me out of nowhere. Could you please take a look?” Matthew pressed a hand to his stomach.
Seeing his genuinely pained look, Arabella dropped the sarcasm and began a proper examination.
“Have you been drinking coffee this whole time? Arabella asked about his recent habits as she checked him over.
“Yes.”
His reply hung in the air, and Arabella’s lips curled into a cold, silent sneer. Serves you right.
“Starting today, absolutely no more coffee. If you get sick again, don’t call me.” Arabella issued a stern warning.
Surprisingly, Matthew nodded earnestly. “Alrigh. From today on, I’ll follow doctor’s orders and quit coffee.”
He then picked up his coffee cup and, right in front of Arabella, tossed it decisively into the
trash bin.
Arabella watched the determined move, a flicker of surprise in her eyes. “Mr. Stewart, you’ve seen the light today–actually throwing away his coffee cup on his own accord.
“That’s a rare sight.” While impressed, her tone remained laced with gentle sarcasm.
“What choice do I have? When Dr. Macdonald puts it that way, if I don’t listen, who’s going to take care of me next time?” Matthew replied with a perfectly straight face.

“Good that you understand. If you could maintain this attitude every time you see me, that would be ideal.” Arabella finally gave a satisfied nod.
“Alright.” Matthew raised an eyebrow slightly in acknowledgment. Had his attitude toward her really been that stern before?
“So, do I need any medication for my condition how?” Matthew asked calmly, looking at Arabella.
Seeing he still seemed to expect a prescription, Arabella had no choice but to say, “How about this–I’ll give you some dietary guidelines to help nourish your stomach.”
“That works.” Matthew agreed.
Arabella took out her phone, typed up the dietary recommendations, and sent them to Matthew.
“I’ve sent it to your phone. Follow this for a while, and you should feel much better.
“If after some time you feel the dietary changes aren’t sufficient, contact me again, and I can prescribe medication then.” Arabella looked at Matthew seriously as she reminded him.
“Got it.”
“By the way, have you seen the recent news?” Matthew asked cautiously.
Arabella glanced at him, guessing he was referring to the paparazzi photos of them online.
“What news?” Arabella pretended not to know.
Matthew studied her expression and frowned slightly. Could it be she hadn’t heard? Then it must have been Frank who handled it for her.
“Oh, just some odd stories here and there. Never mind if you haven’t heard–it’s not important.” Matthew quickly fabricated an excuse.
Had she guessed wrong? Why did Matthew seem a bit off?
“By the way, where did you learn to fly?” Matthew changed the subject.
“Out in the suburbs,” Arabella said.
“Which academy?” Matthew inquired.
“The top civil aviation academy in Doranor City Why do you ask?” Arabella replied.

“Grandpa’s been getting restless at the hospital lately. In your medical opinion, do he’s ready to be discharged?” Matthew asked Arabella.
“I haven’t been to see him these past few days, so I don’t know how his recovery is progressing. Tell you what–I’ll go check on him now,” Arabella suggested.
“Alright, I’ll come with you then,” Matthew said.
“Don’t you have work to do?” Arabella shot him a look.

Pushing open the door to the private suite, Matthew and Arabella walked in.
Robert spotted Matthew first, and his face immediately darkened with displeasure.
“Why haven’t you come by these past few days? Did someone tip you off?” Robert demanded.
Hearing Robert’s accusatory tone, Matthew was confused. “What tip–off? I don’t know what you mean.”
“Don’t play dumb with me. You know exactly what you’ve been hiding, don’t you?” Robert waited for him to confess.
Seeing Robert’s expression, Matthew wondered if he also knew about the online rumors.
He spoke up, “Grandpa, the stuff online is just malicious gossip and lies. It’s not true.”
Hearing Matthew’s words, Robert’s brow furrowed. It seemed Matthew had been keeping more than one secret from him.
