Chapter 140 Caught Spying on a Lesson
As they walked, their quiet conversation was punctuated by soft laughter.
Naomi and Ruby made their way down the quiet corridor. Ruby glanced around and whispered, “Naomi, which classroom is it?”

“Shh, keep your voice down. I think I hear someone teaching up ahead,” Naomi said, putting a finger to her lips.
“The sound is coming from down this hall,” Ruby observed.
“Let’s go see.”
As they moved closer, a tall figure at the front of the room came into Ruby’s line of sight.
Her eyes lit up with excitement. “Naomi, look! Is that him?”
Naomi took a quick glance and nodded. “Yes, that’s him.”
“We can’t really see his face from here. What if we sneak in and pretend we’re supposed to be there?” Ruby suggested eagerly.
“Okay. Let’s go in quietly through the back so we don’t interrupt,” Naomi agreed, assuming the room was full of students given how engaged the instructor seemed.
“Deal,” Ruby said.
Then, Naomi gently pushed open the rear door to the classroom, and the two of them slipped inside as quietly as they could.
Lucas was fully focused on Arabella and didn’t notice the newcomers.
Once Naomi and Ruby had settled into seats at the back, they cautiously looked
- up.
When they saw that the large classroom contained only two people, their eyes widened in surprise.
“Naomi, why are there only two people here?” Ruby whispered to Naomi, completely puzzled.
“I have no idea. I wasn’t expecting this.”
“Never mind that. The guy teaching up front is the handsome instructor I told you about,” Naomi said, nodding toward him.

Ruby fixed her gaze. A tall, well–built figure stood at the front, his sharp, clean–cut features. making her heart skip a beat.
He really is something–young and incredibly good–looking.
She then glanced at Naomi, her eyes sparkling. Naomi, Lucas is seriously hot!
Seeing Ruby’s captivated expression as she stared at Lucas, Naomi smiled slightly and replied with a look. “Of course. I don’t joke about these things. Is he your type?”
Ruby nodded enthusiastically, beaming. Absolutely! I’m already a fan!
Good. We’ll find a way to get his contact info later. Naomi signaled wisely with her eyes.
Exactly. Once I’ve set my sights on someone, I don’t give up easily! Ruby was already determined to get to know him.
Suddenly, Naomi’s attention was caught by another figure in the room.
“Why does that person’s profile look so familiar? she wondered to herself.
“Ruby, doesn’t the student sitting up front look familiar to you?” she whispered.
Ruby followed her gaze. “She does seem familiar…”
Just as they were trying to place her, Lucas noticed the back door was slightly ajar from the corner of his eye.
He instinctively glanced over and spotted two unfamiliar figures sitting in the back row.
The sight gave him a real start!
The smile vanished from his face. Forgetting Arbella was beside him, he raised his voice sharply. “Who’s there?!”
Naomi and Ruby, who had been focused on the familiar figure, were completely caught off guard by his sharp tone.
Their confused eyes snapped from the student Lucas‘ now–pale face.
“Oh no, Ruby. We’ve been spotted,” Naomi blurted out under her breath.
At the same moment, Arabella turned to look behind her.
Seeing Naomi and Ruby’s faces, her eyes filled with astonishment. “Naomi? Ruby? What are you two doing here?”

Lucas, who was still recovering from the scare, finally recognized Naomi. He looked back and forth between the three women, completely bewildered.
“Ms. Hamilton, are you… with them?” he asked Arabella after a moment.
Arabella didn’t elaborate, simply giving a slight rod of confirmation.
Only then did Lucas relax a little. He turned his attention to Naomi and Ruby. “If you’re together, why did you just arrive now? And when exactly did you come in? Why not use the main door?”
Hearing his questions, Naomi replied, “We just got here. We were going to use the front, but we didn’t want to interrupt the lesson, so we came in the back.”
“Honestly… Do you have any idea how startling it is to have people just materialize in the back of a quiet room?” Lucas let out a long breath, his annoyance evident.
It had never occurred to him that two people would just appear out of nowhere during a one–on–one session.
Naomi looked apologetic. “Sorry, Lucas. We didn’t mean to scare you.”
Ruby, snapping back to reality, also realized they’d frightened the very person she wanted to impress. She added with a regretful expression, We’re really, really sorry. It was an accident.”
Lucas, still seated, waved a dismissive hand in their direction. “Just… please go.”
Since they were acquaintances of Arabella’s, he decided to let it go.
Ruby had thought an apology would suffice, so she was taken aback when Lucas asked them to leave.
