Faced with his sharp stare, Ruby averted her eyes. She didn’t want to antagonize him–after all, he was the one she was interested in.
She then turned an unhappy look toward Arabella. “If I remember correctly, you’ve only been here one day.
I’m really curious what methods you used to get the academy’s top instructor to willingly hold a private class for you.” As Ruby spoke, her eyes were full of sarcasm.
Naomi had been standing quietly, observing the exchange. This time, Ruby had voiced the very doubts she felt, putting Arabella on the defensive.
Arabella’s lips curled into a cool smile. “You seem curious about a lot of things, but I’m not obligated to satisfy your curiosity.
“What’s it to you if Lucas wants to teach me privately? It’s none of your concern.”
Seeing Ruby still picking a fight, Arabella wasn’t about to back down.
