Seeing Dylan’s smug, animated expression, Harper felt a wave of vicarious satisfaction, as if Arabella’s situation was truly as miserable as the imagined.
Harper continued scrolling through her phone, kimming through the hateful comments piling up under the posts, her smirk growing wider and more self–satisfied.
Just as she was browsing, the webpage suddenly refreshed to an error message.
“Huh? What’s going on? Why did the page crash Harper frowned slightly, her eyes filled with surprise.
“The site crashed? Are you serious?” Dylan said, looking utterly unconvinced.
“I’m serious. I really can’t access those posts or the photos we uploaded anymore,” Harper replied earnestly, turning her phone toward him
Only then did Dylan believe her. He glanced at the screen and immediately exclaimed, “It really did crash?!”
“Ugh! If the site is down, does that mean all our work was for nothing?” A look of disappointment washed over Harper’s face.
“But there were probably still so many people who hadn’t seen it yet… How could it just go down like this…”
A flicker of frustration also appeared in Dylan’s eyes. “Yeah, what a waste.
“But it’s fine, you saved the original photos, righ Just repost them,” Dylan reminded her.
“Alright, then I get to have the fun of doing this all over again,” Harper said, her face instantly brightening.
She loved nothing more than tarnishing Arabell’s reputation.
Unbeknownst to her, Colton had already followed Arabella’s instructions and deployed a targeted script affecting any account that posted content smearing her name.
As soon as Harper attempted to publish the defamatory photos and comments again, her smartphone suddenly went black.

“Huh? What’s going on? Why did it turn off?” Harper said, looking puzzled.

“Dylan, look at my phone. It was fine a second ago, and now the screen is completely dead,” Harper said, handing the device to Dylan.
“Maybe the battery died?” Dylan took it and pressed the power button a few times.
Miraculously, the screen lit up again.
“See? It’s working. You probably just pressed the lock button by accident,” Dylan said dismissively.
Harper took the phone back, still confused. She was certain she hadn’t touched the side button.
“Oh no! Why is everything gone?!” She tried to access her photos to repost them but found all her recent data and gallery files had vanished. Even the original backups were missing.
“Don’t panic. What do you mean, ‘everything’s gone‘?” Dylan frowned at her.
“Just look–my phone’s gallery is completely empty,” Harper thrust the screen toward him.
“Empty?” Dylan squinted at her phone. “What the…? There’s really nothing here.” Even though he didn’t understand the cause, the evidence was right in front of him.
Harper looked at him anxiously. “What do we do now? The photos are all gone.”
Dylan sighed, a mix of annoyance and smugness on his face. “Relax, it’s fine. I still have the photos on my phone.”
Luckily, he had made separate backups. Otherwise, all their scheming would have been for nothing.
“I told you before you should ditch that cheap phone. If I hadn’t backed everything up this time, all our effort would have been wasted!”
Then Dylan took out his own phone, located the photos, and began uploading them again.
“There. Problem solved.”
Harper looked at Dylan with admiration. “You’re so clever, thinking to back things up. If it were just me, we’d be totally stuck.”
“Of course!
“Huh? Why did my phone just go black too?!” Dylan, who had been secretly pleased with himself moments earlier, now stared at his own levice in shock.

“Whatever, we already reposted the photos. Let’s just go get our phones fixed. By the time they’re working again, there’ll probably be even more people trashing Arabella online,” Harper suggested, trying to salvage the situation.
“Alright, let’s go.” With that, the two of them left Macdonald Villa, clutching their useless smartphones.
“Naomi, what brings you by so early? I just sat down for breakfast,” Ruby said, pleasantly surprised to see Naomi at her door.
Naomi sat down beside her at the kitchen table, her expression dark and unhappy, not saying
