“Don’t worry, my agreeing to treat Matthew isn’t about fear or fees. His condition really doesn’t require much from me. I know what I’m doing,” Arabella said with a light smile, looking at her brothers‘ concerned faces.
She then added, “We should head down. Matthew might be here any minute.”
Seeing that Arabella had her reasons, Ethan and Alfred didn’t press further. They helped her into her wheelchair and headed toward the staircase.
As they entered the main hall, they saw Matthew and Andy being ushered inside, Andy carrying an assortment of high–end wellness gifts and nutritional supplements.
Matthew’s gaze found Arabella immediately.
“Matthew, it’s good to see you.”
“Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton, thank you for having me. I hope my visit isn’t an inconvenience,” Matthew said politely.
“Not at all. You’re always welcome here.”
“Please, come in,” Jonathan replied warmly.
Matthew walked directly over to Arabella. He glanced at her foot before asking, “Things were a bit hurried at the hospital the other day. How is your foot feeling now?”
‘It’s much better, thank you,” Arabella replied courteously.
‘I’m glad to hear it. I brought some things that might aid your recovery. I hope you’re back on your feet soon,” Matthew said incerely, his eyes holding a look of genuine concern.
Thank you for taking the time to visit for such a minor issue. I appreciate it,” Arabella said, her tone brief but appreciative.
It was no trouble,” Matthew replied.
Please, have a seat.” Arabella gestured politely toward the seating area.
Unexpectedly, Matthew chose the spot on the sofa directly next to her wheelchair.

And how are you both?” Matthew asked, politely turning his attention to Jonathan and Florence.
‘We’re doing very well, thank you. I heard Robert has been discharged. He seems to be recovering quite quickly,” Jonathan noted vith polite interest.
‘That’s largely thanks to Arabella’s treatment plan. Without her, his recovery wouldn’t have been nearly as swift,” Matthew said, offering praise where it was due.

He then turned back to Arabella. “I’ve been following the dietary guidelines you suggested and cut out the coffee. My stomach has been feeling significantly better.”
“If you’d listened sooner, you could have spared yourself the discomfort. Stick with the diet–your stomach needs consistent care to heal properly,” Arabella said, glancing at him with a mild, professional reproof.
“I will. Although, would it be possible to vary the meal plans a little? I’ve been on a rather repetitive cycle, and it’s becoming… monotonous,” Matthew asked, hoping she might provide some new options.
“Of course. I’ll send a few different weekly plans later. You can rotate them,” Arabella agreed.
“That would be great. Thank you,” Matthew said, his gaze lingering on her.
Ethan, observing that Matthew’s attention remained firmly on his sister, decided to steer the conversation. “Matthew, your company has been deep in smart tech R&D for a while now. How are those initiatives progressing?”
“They’re on track. Several products are already in collaborative phases with partners domestically and overseas. What sectors have you been focusing your investments on lately?” Matthew asked, shifting his focus to Ethan.
“I haven’t taken on any new major investments recently. My focus has been on corporate expansion,” Ethan said, his current priorities clearly tied to family matters.
“You’re referring to the expansion of Arabella’s pharmaceutical company, correct?” Matthew clarified.
“Yes.”
“If you require any assistance or resources, don’t hesitate to ask,” Matthew offered earnestly.
“I appreciate that,” Ethan replied, noticing once again how the conversation naturally circled back to Arabella. Matthew wasn’t known for casually offering help–his willingness was notable.
Ethan studied Matthew thoughtfully.
“Is Robert adhering to his medication schedule since returning home?” Arabella asked Matthew.
Even though she couldn’t visit Stewart Manor herself, she remained concerned about her patient’s progress.
“He should be. Owen checks in at the house almost daily to oversee things,” Matthew provided the update.
“Good. Please remind him not to discontinue his medication prematurely. I’ll visit him myself once I’ve recovered,” Arabella said seriously.
“Alright. Just let me know when you plan to go,” Matthew said casually.
He preferred not to face his grandfather–and the likelihood of running into Naomi there–alone. Going with Arabella seemed a far better option.
“Sure,” Arabella agreed without much thought.
“Well, focus on your recovery. I should be going,” Matthew said, preparing to take his leave. He had seen she was alright and didn’t
want to overstay.
“Alright. Goodbye,” Arabella said with a polite smile.

“Matthew, leaving so soon? You’ve only just arrived,” Florence said, secretly hoping he might stay a little longer and spend more time with Arabella.
Matthew turned to her. “Seeing that Arabella is recovering well is what matters most. I won’t intrude on your family time any further. Goodbye.”
With that, Matthew stood and headed toward the foyer.
Florence initially thought of having Arabella see him out, but seeing the wheelchair, she reconsidered.
She turned to Ethan instead. “Ethan, would you see Matthew out for us?”
“Of course,” Ethan said, standing up to accompany their guest.
