Matthew frowned. “Is that a problem?”
Rolling her eyes internally, Arabella had no choice but to reply, “No, it’s fine.”
She had a strong feeling that refusing wasn’t an option right now.
“Let’s go.” Matthew turned and strode away.
“Lucas, we’ll have to cancel today’s session. I’ll come back tomorrow,” Arabella said to Lucas.
“Alright then. I’ll pick you up tomorrow,” Lucas agreed reluctantly.
Matthew’s voice drifted back to them. “Hurry up. Don’t waste any more time.”
“Slavedriver,” Arabella muttered under her breath.
“I’ll see you later,” she said, waving to Lucas before quickly catching up with Matthew.
Watching them leave, Lucas gritted his teeth.
He seriously suspected Matthew was doing this on purpose.

“What kind of work is so urgent it can’t wait a few hours?” Lucas grumbled to himself, shoving his hands in his pockets as he headed back toward the office building.
Matthew and Arabella got into the car and drove off.
Coincidentally, Naomi and Ruby were just pulling into the flight school’s parking lot..
“Naomi! Wasn’t that Mr. Stewart’s car? And Arabella was in it!” Ruby’s voice shot up an octave in excitement.
“Why is Mr. Stewart here? And why are they together?” Ruby rattled on, as if she’d uncovered a major secret.
Annoyed, Naomi suddenly slammed on the brakes.
“Ouch!” Ruby was thrown forward, her seatbelt catching her. She rubbed her forehead unhappily. “Naomi, what was that for?”
“Sorry, I just hit the brake a little too hard,” Naomi said, her apology sounding strained.
Ruby pouted. “That really hurt.”
“You should go to the clinic and get it checked,” Naomi suggested, her tone concerned.
“It’s probably fine. It’ll stop hurting in a minute,” Ruby said, then immediately returned to her previous topic. “Did you see, though? Arabella got into his car.”
Naomi’s face tightened. “Yes, I saw.”
“What do you think is going on?” Ruby pressed, her curiosity piqued.
“Arabella asked me to drop off a document for her this morning. Maybe Matthew wasn’t satisfied with the proposal and came to

discuss it with her directly,” Naomi explained.
The words sounded more like an excuse she was making for Matthew–or perhaps a reassurance for herself.
Ruby frowned. “Since when does she get to order you around?”

Naomi’s eyes narrowed slightly. She replied casually, “Arabella mentioned she had plans with Lucas this morning, so she came to the school early.”
“What?” Ruby exploded. “I knew it! She’s definitely clinging to Lucas.”
“Not necessarily. Maybe she just wants extra practice,” Naomi said, playing the understanding role.
“I think she’s up to no good,” Ruby said venomously. “No, I have to find Lucas. I can’t let him be fooled by her.”
Watching Ruby storm off toward the offices, Naomi finally let out a quiet sigh of relief.
She really didn’t want to listen to Ruby go on and on about Matthew and Arabella being together.
It felt like a slap in the face.
Naomi stared at the school’s entrance gate, her heart aching.
Matthew actually came to find Arabella in person over a proposal. That wasn’t like his usual detached style. Did Matthew really have special feelings for her…?
“Naomi!” Ruby came running back, her eyes red–rimmed.

Naomi snapped out of her thoughts. “What’s wrong?”
“Lucas was so rude! He actually kicked me out of his office!” Ruby cried, both angry and hurt. How could Lucas treat her like that?
Seeing Ruby’s miserable state, Naomi felt a strange, petty sense of balance.
“Don’t cry. You’ll ruin your makeup,” Naomi advised, her tone gentle.
Ruby immediately sniffed and dabbed at her eyes. “You’re right. I don’t want to look awful.”
“Don’t take it to heart. Maybe Lucas is just in a bad mood today,” Naomi offered
“That’s no excuse to take it out on me!” Ruby complained.
Naomi took Ruby’s arm. “Come on. It wasn’t easy getting Kyle to schedule this extra training slot for us. We shouldn’t be late.”
“You go ahead and practice, Naomi. I’m not in the mood anymore,” Ruby sighed
“Alright, you wait here then. I’ll go get started,” Naomi said, heading toward the training hangar
This time, she was determined to get her pilot’s license before Arabella.
Arabella followed Matthew into his office.

“You want me to revise the proposal here?” she asked. Was he really in such a rush?

Matthew looked at her. “I’ve reviewed it. The framework and core concept are solid. We’ll refine the details here, and then you can hand it off to the team.”
“Team?” Arabella raised an eyebrow. What team?
“You don’t plan to tackle this bid entirely on your own, do you?” Matthew countered.
“Of course not. But I’m still finalizing the team members,” Arabella admitted honestly.
Matthew said calmly, “I’ll have Andy arrange a team for you.”
Arabella was surprised. “So, you’re assigning me a dedicated team?”
If that was the case, it would be a huge help!
She had been hesitating, worried about overloading Chloe, who was already managing the company’s daily operations. Finding other qualified people she trusted on short notice hadn’t been easy.
