A warm feeling spread through Arabella’s chest. “Thank you, Ethan.”

‘But most investors don’t get involved in operational details like this, right? It’s only because of me that you’re putting in so much extra work.” Arabella couldn’t help feeling a little guilty.
She knew Ethan did all of this simply because he cared about her.
‘How do you know what investors usually do?” Ethan countered.
Arabella playfully stuck out her tongue. Oops–in my relief, I almost slipped up again.
‘Well, Matthew never gets involved in day–to–day matters, so I just assumed,” she said, quickly improvising an excuse.
Only then did Ethan say, “Doing these things for you is what I want to do.”
‘Then once I have some free time, I’ll treat you to a proper dinner,” Arabella offered.
‘Deal,” Ethan agreed readily, not wanting her to feel indebted.
After hanging up, Arabella started her car and drove toward Horizon Corp.
At Horizon Corp, Arabella walked up to Matthew’s office and knocked.
‘Come in.” Matthew’s voice came from inside.
Arabella pushed the door open and said immediately, “Mr. Stewart, it’s not very polite to just take something that belongs to someone else.”
Her accusatory tone the moment she entered made Matthew’s eyes darken slightly. “Just preventing waste,” he replied.
Arabella was speechless. “How did you know it would be wasted?”
“He said he’d already eaten,” Matthew answered matter–of–factly.
The corner of Arabella’s mouth twitched, “He could have saved it for later.”
“Do you care about him that much?” Matthew frowned.
Arabella blinked, confused. “He’s sick, and I went to check on him. What’s the issue?”
Besides, it really wasn’t any of Matthew’s business.
“Andy, order a few servings of soup and have them delivered to him,” Matthew instructed.
“Yes, sir,” Andy responded.
Feeling annoyed, Arabella said, “Never mind; it’s not necessary. The caregiver will arrange lunch for him.”
Matthew raised an eyebrow. “You were unhappy when I took the food, and now you’re unhappy when i try to make it right?”

‘Really, it’s fine. Consider the matter closed,” Arabella said through slightly gritted teeth.
She could already picture how irritated Lucas would be if multiple containers of soup showed up at his door.

fter glaring at Matthew, Arabella forced an awkward smile. “No, we were just discussing some work details with Mr. Stewart.”
is that so? Then please, carry on,” Robert said, picking up his cup and taking a slow, deliberate sip.
The corner of Arabella’s mouth twitched again. With Robert watching them like this, the whole atmosphere felt terribly awkward!
Grandfather, I’ve accepted the invitation. If there’s nothing else, you should head back now,” Matthew said, his tone cool.
Robert shot him a disapproving look. “Can’t I finish my coffee in peace?”
‘Fine,” Matthew conceded. “We’ll resume our work once you’ve left.”
With that, Matthew picked up a file from his desk, effectively dismissing everyone else.
Seeing Matthew leave Arabella standing there, Robert slammed his cup down on the coffee table with a clatter.
“You impudent boy! You think I’m in your way now, do you? Fine, I won’t bother you two any longer,” Robert huffed, standing up and making a show of preparing to leave.
Naomi quickly held his arm. “Mr. Stewart, please don’t be angry. I’m sure Matthew didn’t mean it like that
“No need to defend him. Let’s go, Robert said, though his eyes remained fixed on Matthew, and his feet skin’t actually move
“Matthew, please say something to your grandfather. Ask him not to be upset,” Naomi urged, turning to Matthews
Matthew replied coolly, “He’ll stop being upset the moment he walks out the door”
He’d seen this performance too many times to be fooled by it now.
“Well…” Naomi glanced uncertainly between Robert and Matthew.

Arabella stepped forward. “Robert, we really do have a meeting to get to. If you’d prefer to stay, you’re more than welcome to join
us.”
After all, Robert was the Chairman; it wouldn’t be strange for him to sit in on a business discussion.

Turning to Arabella, Robert’s face instantly broke into a pleased smile. “A meeting, you say?”

Robert turned back to Matthew, his expression stern again. “You should have said it was a meeting earlier.”
“Dr. Hamilton just told you, but you chose not to believe her,” Matthew replied calmly.
Robert glared at him, his mustache seeming to bristle. “You cheeky kid! So it’s my fault now, is it?”
