“Uncle can take some too. It will help you both combat fatigue,” Arabiella added.
It was clear her aunt and uncle had been deeply worried and run ragged by Ruby’s illness

Arabella arched a brow. “You refuse to apologize, and you’re still upset when I choose to overlook it. What exactly is it that you
want?”
“I…” Ruby was left speechless. What did she want? Mostly, she just didn’t want Arabella here!

Ruby grumbled quietly, “Even if she does treat me, we can just pay her. Why do I have to go thank her in person?”
The idea of having to personally thank Arabella sounded almost worse than staying sick.
“Just keep quiet,” Liam snapped. “You just finished your meal, so take that medicine now. Maybe it’ll help you settle down.”
“This child truly never gives us a moment’s peace,” Liam said, shaking his head, then turned back to Arabella. “Arabella, thank goodness we have you. Your uncle and aunt were at their wits‘ end.”
“Uncle, as I said–we’re family,” Arabella replied warmly. She had developed a very positive impression of this aunt and uncle.
“Right you are. Once Ruby is discharged, I’m treating everyone to dinner at the Cloudwing Hotel. A proper family gathering,” Liam declared.
“Thank you, Uncle. We’ll look forward to it,” Arabella agreed.
“Ah, no need for thanks between family.”
“Alright then, we’ll be counting on that feast.”

Arabella turned to Florence. “Mom, you’ve been pushing yourself too hard these last couple of days as well. Let’s go home so you
can rest.”
“Liam, Sophia, I’ll head back with Arabella then,” Florence said.
“Of course, go and get some proper rest,” Liam replied. “Let me walk you out.”
“I’ll stay here and make sure this one takes her medicine,” Sophia added.

“See? Perfectly fine,” she said, then offered Ruby’s medicine to her again. “Now hurry up and take yours. Arabella said you’ll start feeling better after you do.”
“Why does everyone trust her so blindly?” Ruby fumed, frustration bubbling over.
