Arabella didn’t want to waste her breath on someone so petty. She turned directly to Robert. “Sir, would you still like me to proceed with the examination? If not, we can cancel now, but the deposit is absolutely non–refundable p>
Seeing the girl stand her ground so firmly, Robert couldn’t help but smile. “Yes, of course I would. I’m genuinely curious to see what you can do, young lady.” If Aletta had sent her, maybe she did have some skill.
Besides, it had taken a long time to get a response from Aletta. The doctor was known for being particular, turning down many wealthy clients. If he passed up this chance, getting another consultation would be next to impossible.
Seeing Robert still insisted on letting this unknown girl examine him, Matthew’s expression grew even colder. “Grandfather, she’s too young. You can’t just take her word because she claims to be some alternative medicine practitioner’s student p>
Watching Matthew still try to interfere, Robert looked visibly annoyed. “What would you know? You didn’t even know I’d reached out to Aletta. How would this young lady have gotten the
address if he hadn’t sent her? Stop meddling and go attend to your own business p>
Seeing Robert’s mind was made up, Matthew frowned deeply. He was displeased, but realistically, what trouble could a young girl cause? Since Robert was determined, he had no choice but to sit back and quietly observe.
If she tried anything underhanded, he’d have her charged with fraud and sent straight to the police.
Arabella glanced at Matthew. Finally, he’d stopped his nagging. She began her diagnosis.
Miles watched her closely, curious to see what this self–proclaimed apprentice could possibly deduce.
Arabella gently placed her fingers on Robert’s wrist, focusing carefully. After a moment, her brow furrowed slightly.
Robert was in his seventies. How could his pulse be so strong and… so tense?
She checked the rate. It was over a hundred beats per minute.
Arabella fell into deep thought, analyzing internally. For a man Robert’s age, the pulse rate shouldn’t be that high, nor should it feel as vigorous as a younger person’s. Yet his was exactly the opposite.
