Once the door closed, Matthew leaned back in his chair, his expression pensive.

“Was I reading too much into it earlier?” Matthew murmured to himself

“Mr. Stewart, he’s left,” Andy reported upon returning. “The design plans have been forwarded to the project manager by tituirs”

“The site address was provided to the lead contractor earlier–he’ll oversee the execution from start to finish, Andy added.

Once inside his car, Colton wiped his forehead and called Arabella.
“I’m out. The design plans are with them, and payment should come through this afternoon,” he said straight away.
“Well done,” Arabella replied, sounding pleased.
“You have no idea how tense I was in there–I was terrified of slipping up,” Colton said with a sigh.
“It was under control. I knew what I was doing,” Arabella said lightly.
“Good thing you set up that remote session. Otherwise, there’s no way I could have pulled that off today,” Colton remarked, impressed.
She’d managed to complete the design without being physically present–her methods were always clever.
“It’s nothing. I just happen to understand how Matthew operates,” Arabella said casually.
Colton’s tone turned curious. “You and Mr. Stewart… Are you close?”
“Not particularly,” Arabella said firmly. “Less gossip, or the fancy dinners stop.”
“I was just making conversation, not gossiping!” Colton quickly clarified.
“Oh, and by the way, from what the assistant said, they’re not actually renovating here. The real site must have a similar layout, so they brought me here to draft the concept,” Colton added.
“Mm, I figured as much,” Arabella replied calmly.
There was no way Matthew would randomly decide to remodel his own office. Bringing someone in was just his way of verifying whether she was truly behind that earlier design.
“So, do you think Mr. Stewart won’t suspect you anymore?” Colton asked.
Arabella replied thoughtfully, “It wasn’t really suspicion. He’s just observant–he noticed something about my brother’s office and wanted to confirm.”
Now that he’d confirmed it wasn’t what he thought, he likely wouldn’t dwell on it further
“Alright, then my part is done, Glad I didn’t let you down or cause any trouble,” Colton said. He knew how seriously Arabella took maintaining her low profile.
“Okay, reach out if anything comes up,” Arabella said before ending the call.
Colton put his phone away, started the engine, and pulled away from Horizon Corp.
On the other end, Arabella allowed a slight smile to touch her lips.
“Matthew is sharp–no wonder he runs Horizon Corp,” she mused, closing her laptop.

Arabella looked surprised. “Lucas? What are you doing here?”
“Just passing by and spotted you,” Lucas said. “Hop in–we can head to the academy together.”
“I need to pick up my car from the shop first,” Arabella said.
Lucas hesitated briefly. “We’re running a little late for our slot. How about we go straight to the academy?”
